Chelsea FC Gift Card - Terms & Conditions


1 Your Gift Card

1.1 The Gift Card is issued by Chelsea Football Club Ltd, Stamford Bridge, Fulham Road, London. SW6 1HS. 

1.2 Your Gift Card can be loaded with a minimum of £5.00 up to a maximum amount of £500.00 and cannot be reloaded with additional funds once purchased. There are limits as to the number and/or value of Gift Cards that can be purchased. 

1.3 Your Gift Card is not a prepaid debit card, credit card, cheque guarantee or store card. No interest is paid on the available balance.

1.4 Your Gift Card is valid for 24 months from the date of purchase, after which it will expire. 

1.5 Once a Gift Card has expired the electronic money on the Gift Card will also expire, and you will not be able to make any further transactions with the Gift Card, or redeem any of the remaining electronic money. To obtain a refund before the Gift Card expires see section 5 'Ending the use of your Gift Card and redemption' below.

1.6 The Gift Card is our property and we reserve the right to suspend or cancel (see section 5.1 below) the Gift Card at any time.

1.7 If you give this Gift Card to another person as a gift please ensure that they are given these terms and conditions.

1.8 If you purchased your Gift Card on-line or by telephone, you can cancel your purchase within 14 days of the date on which you received your Gift Card provided that the Gift Card has not been used. To obtain a full refund of the value loaded on the Gift Card you must return the Gift Card to Customer Services by post requesting cancellation with your full name and address. Please keep a proof of postage until you receive your refund.


2 Using your Gift Card

2.1 The Gift Card will usually be available for immediate use or, at the latest, within 24 hours of purchase.

2.2 The Gift Card can only be used to make purchases up to the amount of the available funds at participating parts of Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge and the site. For a full list of outlets at Chelsea FC that accept the Gift Card as payment for goods or services please see

2.4 Each transaction requires authorisation and the available funds will be immediately reduced with the value of the transaction and once authorised by you, cannot be stopped. If there are insufficient available funds the transaction will be declined.

2.5 The Gift Card is for personal use only and it may not be used for commercial purposes (including but not limited to resale) without Chelsea FC's prior written consent. The Gift Card is excluded from the Chelsea FC Standard Returns Policy.

2.6 Redemption of unspent electronic money will not be issued on Gift Cards in store or on line. If you would like a refund see below section 5 'Ending the use of your Gift Card and redemption'.

2.7 If you wish to use your Gift Card for a purchase greater than the available balance on your Gift Card you must tell the retailer to charge only up to the maximum available balance and pay the remaining balance by some other means otherwise the transaction may be declined. You may use more than one Gift Card for a transaction of up to a maximum of £500 although some retailers may only accept cash for the balance.

2.8 If you are entitled to a refund for any goods and services purchased, you agree that any refund for goods will not be made until the completion of the returns process. You must not allow a retailer or merchant to credit a refund to the Gift Card for a purchase not made using the Gift Card. 

2.9 There is no fee for purchasing a Gift Card or for using it to make purchases. For fees payable for redeeming the available funds on a Gift Card please see section 5 below. 2.10 If using your giftcard to redeem against the purchase of match tickets you must purchase in person at the Chelsea FC ticket office. We cannot accept payment by giftcard on phone / web ticket sales.


3 Available funds

3.1 You can check the available funds at any time by using the automated telephone service on 020 7107 0035 or by calling Customer Services on 0871 984 1905. We may ask you for some details about your Gift Card when contacting us. 

3.2 If for any reason a transaction is processed for an amount which is more than the available funds you agree to repay the excess to us on request.



4 Safeguarding your Gift Card

Your Gift Card should be treated like cash and if you lose it or it is stolen you will lose the available funds in the same way as cash in a wallet.


5 Ending the use of your Gift Card and redemption 

5.1 We may suspend or cancel the Gift Card if:

(a) we think that the Gift Card has been, or is likely to be, misused;

(b) you breach these terms and conditions;

(c) if we suspect any unlawful use of the Gift Card.

5.2 You may cancel the Gift Card before the expiry date and redeem any available funds on your Gift Card by contacting us in writing to us at Customer Services.

5.3 If your Gift Card is cancelled, any available funds in excess of 10 Euros (or the equivalent) can be redeemed subject to the payment of the Redemption Fee unless we have reasonable grounds for believing you (or someone with your consent) has acted fraudulently or we are required to withhold payment by law. 

5.4 When redeeming any balance on your Gift Card we may ask you to provide some information about the Gift Card and about yourself. We reserve the right to verify any information given to us with a third party.

5.5 Any funds redeemed will be paid in sterling by personal cheque in your name or by direct transfer to your bank or building society in the United Kingdom immediately following completion of our procedures. A fee of no more than €10 will be charged for this service

5.6 If, following redemption, any further transactions are found to have taken place we reserve the right to claim these back from you. 

5.7 When your Gift Card has expired or you have used all the available funds please destroy the same by cutting it in half through the magnetic stripe.


6 Liability

6.1 You will be liable to us for all losses which we suffer as a result of the misuse or fraudulent use of your Gift Card by you or by someone with your consent.

6.2 We will not be liable to you for any losses you suffer due to:

(a) any event beyond our reasonable control;

(b) any malfunction of the Gift Card where this is not within our reasonable control;

(c) any use of the Gift Card in breach of these Terms and Conditions;

(d) your fraudulent use of the Gift Card by you or with your consent;

(e) any retailer refusing or being unable to accept the Gift Card;

(f) the good or services purchased with the Gift Card;

(g) if you lose or have your Gift Card stolen;

(h) any loss of profit, loss of business, indirect or consequential losses.

6.3 Nothing in these terms and conditions will limit our liability for any loss which we are expressly prevented from excluding by law. 


7 Your personal information

7.1 If we collect any personal information (including IP addresses, telephone numbers and transactions) from you when providing the Gift Card or any related services:

(a) we will take all reasonable precautions to keep this information secure;

(b) unless you give us your consent, it will only be used for the purposes of fulfilling our obligations; 

(c) it will only be disclosed to third parties to the extent necessary to operate the Gift Card or if we are required to disclose the information by law;

(d) it may be processed outside of the European Economic Area by our service providers who are required to adequately safeguard this information;

(e) we may use it in connection with any misuse of the Gift Card.

7.2 If you would like a copy of any personal information we hold, please contact The Data Controller at Chelsea Football Club Ltd, Stamford Bridge, Fulham Road, London. SW6 1HS. We may charge a fee for providing this information.

7.3 For security and training purposes all telephone calls may be recorded and/or monitored.


8 Complaints

8.1 If you have any complaint or are unhappy about the Gift Card, please contact us at Customer Services. We will try and resolve any problems as quickly as possible in accordance with our complaints policy. We may ask for additional information from you in writing before dealing with the complaint. 

8.2 Please contact Customer Services call centre on 0871 984 1905 if you have a query about your available funds. If there has been an error in a transaction and it is our fault (or that of any of our service providers) we will normally re-credit the available funds within ten (10) days although there may be a delay whilst we make investigations. If we decide that the disputed transaction is not our fault, we will tell you in writing or by e-mail as soon as a decision is made.

9 Compensation

The Gift Card is an electronic money product and is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and there is no other compensation scheme available in the unlikely event that we are unable to meet any claim for funds held on a Gift Card.


10 Changes to these terms and conditions

10.1 We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions to take into account any changes in the law or any regulation and to vary any of the fees and charges for the Gift Card.

10.2 Notice of any changes will be given on the web at

10.3 If we make any changes which materially affect your rights (unless required by a change in the law) then you may cancel the Gift Card (see condition 6 above) and we will, in these circumstances, waive the Redemption Fee. 


11 General provisions

11.1 Any delay by us in exercising any right or remedy or enforcing any condition in these terms and conditions will not prevent us from pursuing it at a later date.

11.2 We may transfer our obligations under these terms and conditions to a third party provided that they comply with all our obligations.

11.3 These terms and conditions will be construed in accordance with English law.



12 What is meant by the following terms

available funds means the value of any electronic money funds available on your Gift Card at any one time to be spent or to pay any fees or charges.

Gift Card means the Chelsea FC Gift Card.

Redemption Fee means the administration charge of no more than €10 paid by you if you wish to end the use of your Gift Card and receive a refund for unspent electronic money remaining on the Gift Card.

transaction means any payment made by you to purchase goods or services using your Gift Card from a retailer who accepts the Chelsea FC Gift Card.

we, us our means Chelsea Football Club Ltd, who issue the Gift Card.

you, your means the purchaser of the Gift Card or, if given to someone else, that person.
