It is so far so good for Chelsea players at Euro 2012 as Raul Meireles joined Petr Cech in the quarter-finals.

The midfielder was part of the Portugal side that beat the Netherlands 2-1 to finish second in their group with six points. The Dutch, the surprise whipping boys in the Group B, end pointless despite taking the lead in this encounter through Rafael van der Vaart.

Cristiano Ronaldo equalised before the break and then added the winner in the second half as the Portuguese continued to look the more dangerous side.

Meireles, who was substituted during the second-half of the two previous games, was this time replaced on 71 minutes, just before the winning goal. He had shortly before returned to the action following treatment after a painful collision with Nigel de Jong.

Portugal will now face Cech and the Czech Republic on Thursday when the knockout stage begins. Germany, who beat Denmark 2-1 to finish top of Group B with nine points, play Greece on Friday.
