Special memories made at latest Community Day

Despite the wintry conditions it was all smiles at our Cobham training ground on Wednesday as a host of Blues supporters watched training before meeting their heroes.

The fans and their family members were invited by the Chelsea Foundation to watch Antonio Conte and his coaching staff put the players through their paces during our final Community Day of the season.

After training, the players spent time chatting to the Foundation guests, as well as posing for photographs with the visitors and signing autographs to give them some great mementoes from the day.

One of the youngest fans at Cobham for the day was five-year-old Joey Cooper Spinelli (pictured above with Pedro and Danny Drinkwater) and dad Dominic who said: ‘It has been an amazing experience for Joey and we are very thankful to the club as he is a massive fan.

‘My wife just wrote to the club telling them Joey’s situation and we were surprised to get a response, let alone the chance to come and meet the players.’

The regular Community Days see the Chelsea Foundation linking up with a range of charities to arrange visits for seriously or terminally ill supporters and their carers, giving them a well-deserved boost in what is obviously a difficult time for them and their families.
