Flo supports Plan's Champions of Change Cup

Club ambassador Tore Andre Flo was the surprise guest as the Champions of Change Cup returned to Stamford Bridge for its third year.

Flo, who also attended the event last year, showed his support once again at Plan UK’s annual Pitch Day which proved to be another great success with 140 people taking part, and more than £50,000 being raised for the club’s global charity partner, which will help some of the world’s poorest children out of poverty and into football.

The former Chelsea striker watched on as the participants fought it out for the 2018 Champions of Change trophy, and he also took part in the penalty shoot-out challenge before presenting the trophies and medals to the winners and runners-up of the tournament.

Speaking at the event, Flo said: ‘It’s always great to come back to Stamford Bridge and I’ve had an amazing day.

‘It’s been great meeting the players, playing some football and raising money for a great charity.’

A member of the winning side Discover RB said: ‘We’ve really enjoyed it. It was a unique opportunity for us all to come and play at Chelsea – an opportunity like this is quite rare.

‘We were a little bit short of players so it was quite hard work as it went on but we are very happy to have won the tournament. We have a business charity department and they work with Plan so we signed up three teams to take part today.

‘We’ve got two teams from our global office and one team from our UK business here. We were all here last year and we’ll definitely be keen to come again next year!’
