The Football Association has announced details of tributes for Ray Wilkins which will be part of FA Cup final day at Wembley on Saturday.
Our former captain and coach, who sadly passed away last month, not only played for both Chelsea and Manchester United, who will contest the 2018 final, he also had a successful history in the FA Cup having scored one of its most famous goals in the final in 1983, against Brighton when he was a Man United player, and assisted Gianluca Vialli, then Guus Hiddink and Carlo Ancelotti for our triumphs in 2000, 2009 and 2010.
On Saturday, Ray’s wife Jackie Wilkins, will present the trophy from the Royal Box to the winners at full-time. In addition, there will be a tribute within the matchday programme and banners will be unveiled in both the Chelsea and Manchester United ends in Ray’s memory ahead of kick-off.
