Youth Cup semi date set

The date has been confirmed for our first-leg trip to St Andrew’s in the FA Youth Cup semi-final.

Jody Morris’s side will travel to the Midlands to take on Birmingham City on Wednesday 4 April, kick-off 7pm. Tickets can be purchased on the night at the stadium, priced at just £1 for adults and concessions. A date for the second leg at Stamford Bridge will be confirmed shortly.

The last-four tie is our ninth successive appearance in the semi-finals as the Chelsea Academy aims for a record-equalling fifth consecutive Youth Cup triumph this term. It is the second season in a row we have faced Birmingham in the competition; a hat-trick from Mason Mount alongside goals from Cole Dasilva and Reece James helped Morris’s men to a 5-0 win in the fourth round last January.

Birmingham have beaten Bristol City, Sheffield United, Bury and Norwich City on the way to a first appearance in the semi-finals since 2009. The winners of the two-legged tie will face either Arsenal or Blackpool in the final.
