Brompton Fountain to collect at Leicester Game

The Brompton Fountain has won this season’s second Chelsea Foundation online charity poll, and will be holding bucket collections at Stamford Bridge before the game against Leicester City.

There are four matchdays available throughout the season for bucket collects, so the charities have been broken down into different categories: children’s, medical, armed forces and community charities.

Thousands of you took part in the second poll, the medical category, via this website, with The Brompton Foundation, who are dedicated to providing support, resources and equipment to children and their families at Royal Brompton Hospital, coming out on top.

The Brompton Fountain, which recently celebrated 10 years as a registered charity, works closely with the hospital teams within the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, children’s wards, outpatient clinics and schools to ensure support is given from the point of diagnoses onwards.

The charity also helps families both practically and emotionally while on the wards and also once they are home through the provision of additional services, vital resources and equipment that are outside of the NHS remit.

Director at The Brompton Fountain, Trudy Nickels, said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have won the public vote and have the opportunity to raise funds at the match on Saturday.

‘The money we collect will make a big difference to some of the sickest children in the country with complex heart and lung disease under the care of Royal Brompton Hospital.

‘Our charity provides specialist lifesaving equipment, support and resources for these young patients and their families.

‘We would like to say a huge thank you to Chelsea football club and to everyone who voted for us.’
