#Game4Grenfell this weekend features former Blues

Damien Duff and Jody Morris will be among those playing at Saturday’s #Game4Grenfell at Loftus Road, for which tickets are still available.

Our former duo will join many other ex-professionals and celebrities for a 90-minute match to raise funds and show support for the community so tragically affected by the Grenfell Tower disaster.

With the Blues not in action this weekend why not head to the home of our west London neighbours for an entertaining afternoon of football and to contribute to such a worthwhile cause? Kick-off is at 3pm and tickets, which cost £15 for adults and £5 for children, can be bought here.

Over 2000 tickets have been issued to those directly affected by the tragedy, including families, the emergency services, volunteers, local residents and those who played their part in the recovery efforts in North Kensington. Monies raised from ticket sales and other fundraising initiatives around the event will be passed directly to the London Community Foundation for allocation to the Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund, distributing funds to survivors and the wider community affected by the fire.

The two teams will be managed by Les Ferdinand, who helped organise the event in the area where he grew up, and Alan Shearer. The line-up includes multiple Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah as well as former England players such as David Seaman, Jamie Redknapp and Paul Merson.

Earlier this month Chelsea Football Club donated our match fee from Community Shield to the Grenfell Tower fire support fund, and at last week’s Community Day we welcomed a number of those directly affected to Cobham where they watched training and met the first team squad.
