Make It Snappy

We delve into the photo archives to bring you a Chelsea image from the past, this time with a few of our players warming up for a big game while looking as though they could be on the verge of doing something they probably shouldn't.
A cold snap had well and truly kicked in when the above photo was taken at Stamford Bridge in March 1965.
The image captures four of our players - Johnny Boyle, Terry Venables, Ron Harris and Eddie McCreadie – jogging around the edge of the pitch, which is covered in snow and ice, ahead of an FA Cup tie against Peterborough United.
Whether or not the players managed to throw the snowballs in their hands is unknown, but you can probably have a fairly accurate guess.
Thankfully the weather didn’t stop us producing a dominant display to book our place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
Boyle, Harris and Venables all started as the Blues ran out 5-1 winners, sending those supporters who had braved the freezing conditions home with a smile.
