Cesc the record breaker

Cesc Fabregas was a recent guest on Sky’s sports quiz A League Of Their Own and the Spanish midfielder ended his appearance having set a new Guinness World Record.

Fabregas became the latest Chelsea player to appear on the sports-based comedy panel show, following in the footsteps of Frank Lampard who was a guest a couple of times during his Stamford Bridge career. Gianfranco Zola and Ashley Cole have both been on the programme since leaving the Blues.

Fabregas was on a team captained by Lampard’s cousin, Jamie Redknapp, and it was the two men who were tasked with setting a new world record for the highest number of passes completed inside 30 seconds while airborne.

With the pair suspended from a huge height, it was no surprise they got off to a shaky start, but there was no shortage of technical quality on show and eventually the duo’s ability shone through, enabling them to set a new record with their last attempt.

Fabregas and Redknapp were presented with their official framed certificates in the studio.

Fabregas also features in the latest edition of Chelsea Unseen, which can be viewed below.
